It really depends which machine. For most machines we can just use other ways to monitor or help the patient. If it was something really important like a kidney dialysis machine, that would be harder, but we usually have spare machines, or can transfer a patient to another hospital that has the machine we need. 🙂

I was inspired to be a scientist because my dad had a bad heart and i wanted to find out why things in the body go wrong!

When our machines go wrong, nothing much happens except that people have to wait longer. Luckily for us, we don’t deal with any emergencies.
I became interested in healthcare while I was working in a hospital doing medical imaging. There wasn’t a special reason for choosing Audiology, I just knew it would suit me well. I have always liked being busy and solving problems carefully – I am pleased to be able to use those things to help other people.
