  Absolutely not, the two go hand in hand. Science is all about rigorous enquiry, and the use of evidence, and so is nursing. Everything that is done to patients is based in science of some kind, whether it is health science (anatomy, physiology, pharmacology etc.) or behavioural science (psychology, sociology etc.).
