I currently live in Inverness with my grown-up son, his girlfriend, three tiny long-hair Chihuahuas, and two huge, hairy cats. I have lived and worked across Scotland, in England, and in New Zealand, which I love. I cycle wherever I can, partly because I’m too lazy to go to the gym (but mainly because I love cycling). Others would probably describe me as a bit bossy, but also kind and supportive. Despite my best intentions, I have failed as a vegetarian, and now just try to avoid meat (but I love fish). My greatest weakness is for sweet things – I love cake and chocolate, and eat something sweet every day! I love pretty much all science, but especially anything with a biology basis.

I have worked in the Department of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of the Highlands and Islands for a year and a half, and am a lecturer, meaning I teach university Nursing students, carry out research, and do some management/development work. I also run the undergraduate Nursing degree programme, which involves lots of meetings, and lot sor organising people. It is a lovely little team in a beautiful setting in the Scottish Highlands.
