Yes. Throughout school and university we’re taught the heart by looking at pictures and diagrams. I was fortunate enough to witness surgery where the heart (as well as other organs) was being removed from a organ donor and placed in machine where it would continue to beat outside the body while it was being transported to another hospital to be given to another patient! It was amazing to actually see it in real life after spending years learning and talking about it!!
