      In terms of a complete cure, i would have to say no. The immense complexity of cancer means that there is many more puzzles to solve before we get there.

      However, it is not all doom and gloom. Whereas some cancers haven’t been cured, we have found ways of slowing them down, to give people a chance at more of a normal life. Researchers are also gaining crucial information about cancer everyday and i have seen first-hand the advances we’ve made. For example, did you know that the 5-year survival rates for breast cancer patients have doubled in the last 30 years? If these trends continue, i have great hope that we will one day, totally eradicate cancer as a major cause of human death.
