I love doing experiments that no one has ever done before – it means you could find something no one else has

Like Gareth, I also enjoy doing new experiments. They don’t always work but it’s an amazing feeling when they do!

As a doctor, my favourite thing is making someone feel better. There is nothing better than when a treatment you give works and they feel much better.

Seeing a student’s face when you explain something they thought was really difficult and then they understand it – so satisfying!

I think the favourite thing is when asked to provide a patient a therapy but you cannot use the standard way of providing it, so you have a to use a different setup to do so. I enjoy performing such tasks which make you think on your feet, require quick decision making and sometimes require you to think out of the box.

I like to ask ‘are we doing this the best way we can?’ and seeing how other audiologists work differently from me. I like seeing something I have written all finished and ready for other people to read – like magazine articles and leaflets to give out to patients.
