Hospitals are full of many machines that are required to get the patients the care they deserve to get better, the list can be endless – but some the main ones I work with include some of the following:
*Ventilators (there are many different types which can be used to different conditions – and are used to support the lungs get oxygen around the body),
*Haemofilters – used to support the kidneys,
*Many other monitors and machines that measure the vital signs of patients – these signs could range from oxygen measurement to measuring the ECG of the heart or electrical activity in the brain,
*Suction – used to remove secretions or blood from patients,
*Defibrillators – used to help start the heart get back into normal rhythm,
*Thromboelastogram machines – which are used to measure the strength of patients clotting of the blood,
*Blood gas analysers – these machines measure what electrolytes, O2, CO2 and other important components the patients blood has,
*Syringe drivers and infusion pumps -used to give patients important medicine or fluid,

Like I said the list is huge and these are only a few!

So many!! Machines to check blood pressure and heart rate, machines to check how much oxygen is in your blood, machines to help you breathe when you need help, machines to do the job of your heart during heart surgery, machines to give you medicines into your veins, and so many more!! Technology is now a vital part of caring for sick people. 🙂
