I originally moved for my undergraduate studies as I was keen to experience life living away from home. I then moved to Cambridge (and afterwards Edinburgh) because the projects that were there interested me.
Although i chose this route, it’s important to remember that you can pursue a career in science and stay at home if you wanted to. Indeed, the University of Birmingham has some fantastic research in Biological Sciences. You can also be more adventurous than me and go to another country like Germany, USA or even Australia! The flexibility is one of the major advantages of science.
